I for one will make this pledge I will not go to another owner update. Until what was promised to us is restored I will do my best to keep people from going Platinum . Remember one wave starts as a small ripple. Let us as Platinum owners be that ripple.

In addition to our more expensive "qualified" points that place us at the Platinum Level, we purchased THROUGH BLUEGREEN (Pinnacle Vacations) a "points only" package of 63,000 "unqualified" points. At that time, family had become interested in our BlueGreen travels and this purchase would now allow us to splurge on more luxurious accommodations, such as an occasional Presidential Suite, or multiple condos/suites. Also, friends who had been traveling with us to BlueGreen resorts had begun asking if we could make reservations for them. And the circle of friends expanded as stories of beautiful resorts multiplied. This was the EXACT reason that BlueGreen was promoting the new "Points Only" packages via Pinnacle...more opportunities to bring family and friends to BlueGreen resorts. More points = more reservations. We have never had a successful wait listed reservation, but the unrestricted cancellations had allowed us to make, and then tweak (or possibly cancel), reservations involving other people. Involving more people in our vacation plans creates the need to make multiple reservations for the same time frame/resorts, as well as the need to possibly modify or cancel. Now that the benefit of unlimited cancellations has been revoked, we will undoubtedly reconsider how we make reservations involving others, including cutting friends out of the BlueGreen experience. We feel like we are collateral damage in your shotgun approach to contain the mega-renters. Why don't you allow unlimited cancellations up until 60 or 90 days prior to check-in? That would allow for reservation modification and release inventory in time for others to book it. The mega-renters will simply tack the cost of Points Protection onto their rental fee and, and, now, don't need to cancel until the day of check-in. How does that free up inventory? Is it true you only called a few hundred of us? How can that be? Don't you want to hear what we think of your idea which impacted 6,374 Platinum owners who pay 30% of the annual maintenance fees?

We support you every year. Why don't you support us? Comment
I hope that this issue can be resolved. Unlimited cancelations was one of the main reasons I spent thousands to upgrade to platinum. Our Bluegreen ownership is not as enjoyable without sharing the experience with our friends and family. In order to book units, most of the time we have to do it 8-11 months out. Then we try to see if our family and friends schedules fit that time frame. Many times they cannot stay on that date so we either have to find someone else or cancell. This cancellation change will dramatically effects us a few more years down the road as we will be doing more of this. I was planing to continue to purchase more points as we had a plan in place. Your policy change just wiped it out the door. Needless to say we are very disappointed and hope that you will consider reversing your decision. Along with limiting us to 10 reservations to one region , you have made the platinum level not very attractive. Reason I purchased so many points was for : 1. 15 month waitlist 2. unlimited cancellations 3. Free weeks I also do not like the 10 reservation rule in any one area. This was not even a "perk" that was taken away.

Bluegreen's Platinum owners, those of us who have invested many thousands of dollars in the club, are your most loyal owners, hence your most valuable asset. By taking away our unlimited cancellations, you have created a feeling of distrust among us. Many of us, myself for sure, consider this the most valuable benefit platinum owners have. It is the ONLY reason my husband and I upgraded and added points through your sales department. We could have saved many thousands of dollars by simply acquiring free resale points, and we would have had we known you would be pulling the benefit that was the decision maker for us. We will continue to visit Bluegreen resorts, bring friends and family along and have a good time, but you have betrayed our trust and we will never again, recommend buying into Bluegreen to any of our friends or family. You have lost one of your strongest, most loyal supporters, and I know my many platinum owner friends feel the same way. Comment
Taking unlimited cancellation from us to create 36000 open nights doesn't make sense if they're going to possibly create a higher level and reinstate unlimited cancellations for them. If that was the real reason. Comment
Who would like to go back and revisit the 10 reservation limit per region rule? And can we roll this into the fight on the new 10 cancellation rule? First and foremost I feel that if they are going to change policies that they should grandfather us in and make the change on the new owners going forward. Every time they change the rules they say it is to free up nights, to free up reservations and to fill rooms. For WHO? Does anyone believe that? Because there has been many times that I have had points (money) in my account and found open reservations that I could have booked but they wouldn't let spend my own points (money). If they really want to fill up rooms they would have made a 10 reservation limit per resort instead of by region. Because people would have made their 10 reservation their favorite resort and then be pushed / forced to use their points at the less desirable resorts in that region. But now I wont make reservations at the less desirable resorts because I dont want to use one of my 10 reservations in that region! Anyone else do that? Do free cancellation up until the 45 day window for BT so people cant cancel for free and grab ressies on BT and reuse their points to grab other ressies. I KNOW THE SALESMAN TOLD US TO DO THIS!!! 1. I think with all the years of small point owners complaining to sales that they can not get reservation for high demand times that they have limited/ devalued our ownerships to help try and help small point owners. 2. I thinks about money by making us buy PP or pay for extra cancellations. Essentially our cost of ownership just went up without even having to raise MF's. So now what are some solid solutions? please post your best suggestion, ideas and solutions for each rule. I've read some great one but have trouble going back and finding them all. Comment
please reconsider...you have taken away the only benefit that means anything to us! We are feeling like we spent all that money to go Platinum for nothing! Some people out there have been saying all along that it is stupid to buy from Bluegreen when you can get points for free from E Bay and other owners. I indeed did receive some free points in an owner transfer, but you will see we own enough Qualified points.....direct from Bluegreen...to be Platinum twice!! we have been loyal to Bluegreen...now how about Bluegreen being loyal to us! These are mostly thoughts, but some decisions as a result of the recent change in benefits affecting Platinum owners. 1) Bluegreen's integrity is now diminished 2) Trust of Bluegreen is now in jeopardy 3) I will no longer participate in owners update meetings 4) I can no longer recommend potential owners 5) I now have a hard time recommending Bluegreen products and services 6) I am beginning to regret my decision to buy into Bluegreen 7) What is to prevent more changes without any owner approval or input 8) In light of reduced benefits and increasing maintenance fees, I am seriously entertaining the thought of simply letting go of Bluegreen despite my mortgage being paid in full 9) I feel betrayed 10) I feel Bluegreen does not care about what I think 11) I have been deceived by the sales team since promised unlimited cancellations is now removed. Next, I guess I will find out I am no longer a Double Platinum owner and that I can no longer rent out some of my excessive points as recommended to me at multiple "owners update" meetings 12) If I were a gold or silver owner (and I was once at both levels), there is less incentive to upgrade to platinum 13 Bluegreen now needs to adjust its Core Values statements (you can find them at https://www.bluegreenvacations.com/values/) Comment
What did I pay for a status just to have it taken away. If it is being taken away then Bluegreen Corporation should be paying me. If they wish to change it then it should be going forward and people already at this level should be grandfathered in. Comment

I use the cancel and rebook method to juggle saved points with current points and older points with newer point secondary to different earn dates. Most platinum owners have many points hence may accounts . Comment
Bluegreen corporate has devalued my platinum ownership to approximately $225 which is the cost of 5 point protection policies. Comment
I am respectfully requesting that a panel of Platinum Owners be convened to serve the interests of the Platinum Owners moving forward. We would like to partner with Bluegreen to protect the cherished value of our ownerships. Comment
It seems to me that this will generate a lot of income for Bluegreen for points protection fees but will not increase availability when most with points protection will cancel on the day of check-in. No increase in availability then at all. Owners have been told in updates in the last week that a new level is coming out--diamond. Yet Wendy told me in a recent e-mail that there is no higher metal level in the works. Very sad that one or the other is not telling the truth. Comment
I was a silver member once (years ago) and lost benefits when BlueGreen made changes to the premier perks. We were told if we upgraded to platinum we would never lose benefits again. We upgraded to platinum and it has happened again... I also agree that going from Unlimited cancellations down to 10 is drastic. this needs to be discussed and before a change like this is made. Please ask for input and allow us to help you come up with a reasonable number of cancellations. I own over 140,000 points and 10 cancellation a year will not work for me. Comment
Disappointed that you are changing my benefits after investing substantially to become a platinum member because of the additional benefits. Comment
One of the main reasons we upgraded to Platinum was the unlimited cancellations. Your sales staff pushed "If you buy more points, you will have enough to rent out to offset the additional costs of becoming Platinum." We were so excited to get to the Platinum status with unlimited cancellations. Our family (us along with my son and his wife) tries to spend one weekend a month at a BlueGreen resort mostly at Christmas Mountain Village. When the 10 reservation came along, it makes it impossible to book one weekend a month; however, we have been able to work around this. The 10 cancellation policy will really limited our ability to book and modify as we have been. Several of my cancellations have been changing point weeks booked online to our free weeks. Also, several of my counted cancellations were for Aruba where multi-bedroom units are booked as multi-reservations; therefore, they counted as multi-cancellations. I am still a BG fan and love my vacations. Comment
Dear Ms. Poe, and BG Corporate, I would like to ask that BG reconsider the recent change to platinum benefits. This is the second drastic change in the last 2 years and greatly devalues the benefit of being platinum. I am one that does use more than 10 cancellations per year, but we do not rent out our points. The main reason I wanted to be platinum level is because of the unlimited cancellations. We have 4 grown children who have families and elderly parents. I want to share our BG experiences with them. Working around their schedules causes me to have to cancel often. I don't hold units and then rebook with bonus time. Please reconsider this decision that greatly devalues our premier level. Thank you for listening. Comment
Once again Bluegreen has shown platinum owners just how much they "appreciate" us by taking away more benefits and further limiting our ability to use our points the way we want. If 7% of platinum owners are abusing the unlimited cancellation, that means 93% of platinum owners ARE NOT. If you know 7% are abusing, you must also know who those owners are. Why not go after them? Comment
Ms. Poe and BG Corp, Do you realize that you have devalued the Platinum ownership to about $449.50 the price of 10 PP. The only difference between 60,000 qualified points and 60,000 non-qualified points ( besides the fact that qualified points will cost anywhere from 75k to 180k and non-qualified points are free ) is $449.50, 3 white weeks and the wait list. For 180k I can cancel about 10 times per year for the next 400 years or 40 times for the next 100 years. Does it make since for anybody to buy qualified points from BG? I really feel that we should be grandfathered and then change the policy going forward for new owners. Also maybe instruct your sales persons to quit sharing tips on how to cheat the system. Renting and cheating tactics come from your sales team. |

We need unlimited cancellations restored. They said 93% of us don't use 10, so we don't need unlimited. Submit as many comments as you would like CLICK HERE.
