You don't seem to realize how much of a dis-service you are doing to your most loyal owners. Most of us in the platinum level are seniors - people who have upgraded over the years. Now that we are retired and hope to maximize our use of Bluegreen you are making it very hard to do so. At our stage in life changes are inevitable. We try to plan trips around kids and grandkids, birthdays, anniversaries, and more. I cannot always make plans and be sure that someone's schedule will not change. And as a senior it is very likely that illness or a medical issue will force me to make changes. I have taken 7 years to work up to Platinum, and looked forward to retirement. Now you have suddenly made it much more difficult for me. Can you tell me a couple of things? 1. How many cancellations do you show for me? 2. What steps are being taken (other than penalizing everyone) to stop abuses by mega-renters? 3. What steps are you taking to stop the huge number of lies that your sales people are telling us in order to make a commission? I look forward to your reply.

I have purchased all my points through Bluegreen and was excited when I reached the Platinum level, at that time, there were no restrictions on the number of times I could stay at my favorite resort or the number of cancellations that I might need. I have not used very many cancellations, but it was given to me, both verbally and written as a reward for attainting the highest level in your system. Just because I did not use this "perk" given to me, I still felt the security that it was there if needed without paying an extra fee. Please reconsider this decision or at least increase the number of cancellations given to your most loyal members. Comment
Bluegreen Vacations I saw this comment by a fellow Platinum Owner and it really sums it up: I have been keeping my finances on computer since 2000. We bought into BG in 2001. I just did a report in Quicken to see how much money we have given to BG in terms of timeshare, mortgage interest, and past maintenance fees. Take into account what we are committed to give BG in maintenance fees each year in the future, the reality has suddenly hit me. In light of BG degrading the Platinum benefits, I am feeling pretty stupid at the moment. What have I done? What is your comments on this please Bluegreen Vacations? Anyone can answer? I address you this way as this is how you like to sign your letters to Platinum Owners. Kind regards Comment
So you think it is a good idea to take away benefits used to sell us points? What else are you going to do to devalue our ownership? I must say that I have told many many people that we just love the BG product. I am not so sure I can say that anymore. It is not the change in cancelation policy so much as the fact that we sere sold one thing and are not receiving the benefits promised. It is depressing. Comment
The new rule going into effect April 1, 2016, is a big disappointment to most of us that are at the Platinum level. Please ask those making this decision to reconsider, if not unlimited, then at least increase the number to 20. Thanks Comment
Bluegreen so agree with this: I will do everything in my power to discourage and persuade people NOT to buy BG. I can not wait to get in the hot tub and pools with prospects! Kind regards Comment

Due to your new policy which takes away from my benefits of owning BG, and your lack of willingness to reconsider, I will be sharing lots of information with all guests at the resorts I visit. They need to know what kind of company they are buying into. Please understand that there are many Platinum owners who feel the same. Your letter explains that it only affects a small amount of owners, yet you also say it will create great volumes of availability. This is just so you can say this to potential new buyers and make sales. Please reconsider either grandfathering-in the current platinum members or at least consider a more reasonable number of cancellations, such as 25-30 per year. Comment
The limit of 10 reservations in a region continues to hinder my ability to use my points when and where we want to. Our closest resort is ~3.5 hours away.. the next closest is over 8. We can't take many full weeks so use our points to book frequent long weekends to relax and de-stress. . We plan time off around work schedules and have to stay close to home because we have elderly parents. Since white and blue season are the first 14 weeks of the year in this region if we book our free weeks, that takes up 3 of our 10 reservations , which means we can't reserve time later in the year. Free weeks should not count in the limit. 10 reservation in a "region" isn't enough for someone with a high number of points that can't spend days traveling for vacations. Once again, we are requesting you remove the 10 reservation limit completely or increase to something more reasonable for high point owners Comment
When recently learning of the change to the cancelation policy for platinum owners, I sat down and cried. Why? That must seem silly to you, I know. But here is our story. When we first became Bluegreen owners, we were apprehensive. See, We have a now 12 yr old son with a progressing lung disease. We wanted to make memories, as many as we could. But with his illness, he requires hospitalizations. When he does, it is a guaranteed 14 days or more in the hospital, no less but often more. Unlimited cancellations, while we haven't had to use more than 10 yet, were our comfort in knowing we could plan for the future even in such uncertainty. Now, I think twice before I book, I cry and stress about the time of year, will he be healthy? Have I already booked too many if we end up having to cancel? More stress I do not need! This was supposed to help. We spent thousands of dollars. Rent out your points, they said. Buy more and rent them out to cover your costs. Unlimited cancelations remember? Become double platinum and rent. That is what we were told just days before the policy change was announced. When I am talking about the 3 timeshare companies we own with, Bluegreen has always been my top pick because of the benefits. They were why we went platinum with you first instead of another competitor. Disheartened Comment
We are still very concerned about your new arbitrary limit of 10 cancellations per year for Platinum owners. We have been told that it will increase availability for other owners, but that does not make sense. My first question to you is what is the average of Platinum owners vs. all other owners? I would bet that most platinum owners are like us - seniors who could never afford the $100,000 required to attain platinum status until late in their working lives. We are 64, and in the last year my wife has had 3 surgeries. Are you discriminating against senior citizens? As we get older sometimes plans will change due to health. We try not to abuse the system, but health issues are inevitable. When many of us platinum owners try to make vacation plans it involves trying to work with other family members or friends. There are occasions when I have put in requests for more than one booking until a final schedule can be confirmed. As an example, right now I have in requests for New Orleans and Gulf Shores in June of 2017. Our friends have a 2 week window where they can join us in NO. Due to a nephew's graduation, we have the same starting limitation, but we can stay a week later. So to book a 2 week trip for us we have an online request for NO for 2 weeks and a request for Gulf Shores for 3 weeks, a total of 5 reservations. Once we hit the 11 month window and find out what we get we will end up canceling 3 reservations (assuming we get all 5). I don't consider that abusing the system, and if it is done right away it actually increases availability for all owners. It is very possible that someone who is not even bronze will pick up a week that they would never get. With that preamble, why not change your policy to limit last-minute cancellations? Maybe a limited number within the last 30 days? It could still be a potential hardship for seniors who have health issues, but at least it would allow us to plan trips int eh future. If you look at our history you will see very few reservations that do not have either Mary's or my name on them. We have rented to Japanese friends 2 or 3 times, and we did one other rental in January 2015 when Mary's back surgery caused us to cancel a trip. I don't remember any other rentals in 8 years. We certainly are not abusing the system, and we are very irritated that you have taken away a benefit because you do not know how to properly control the so-called mega-renters. You kind of remind me of my former employer, GM. For over 30 years we would see one employee or small group do something that the company did not like. Rather than address issues directly, they always came up with new policies that affected everyone. Their unwillingness to step up and address issues properly certainly helped them keep out of bankruptcy didn't it? That is not to suggest that BG has financial troubles, but it is a suggestion that management is not properly focusing on the problem. Comment
We are very upset about losing our unlimited cancellations as Platinum members. We spent much of our savings to become platinum members because of this benefit which you are now taking away from us. Every year we struggle to pay our maintenance fees & dues & every few years you take something else away from us. Now that you have a large amount of our money in your pockets you go back on your word. We struggled to become Platinum members for the extra benefits it offered & now you take those from us using excuses that it's for everyones best interest. Bluegreen trains it sales staff to push the sale on all customers using broken promises & lies. Shame on you! Are the high yearly fees & abrasive sales tactics not enough for you. Now you go back on your promises too! Comment

Two recent changes you have made to Platinum owners have impacted us in a very negative manner. First was the 10 reservation rule in one area, some of us don't travel far from home and this restriction limits our enjoyment of Bluegreen. If this restriction had been in place when I purchased my points, the total number of points would be much less. The second restriction you placed on Platinum owners that made it much more difficult to achieve our optimum enjoyment of our points was the 10 cancellation rule. It is much more difficult to "share our happiness" with family and friends without added cost that was not in place when we purchased our points. Comment
Please grandfather platinum owners and fix the mega renter issue. Comment
Bluegreen Corporation Please clarify: Do these reservation modifications count as a cancellation? 1 Days reduction 2 Days increase 3 Room type change 4 Location change 5 Change to a free week Comment

Dear Bluegreen Corporation I was told at the last owners update there was going to be a new level, which our upgrade would prepare us for. What new levels are being prepared? Comment

I wish you to reconsider the 10 cancellation rule it is not appropriate that you keep reducing our benefits. Comment
1. Grandfathered in first and foremost. 2. Unlimited cancellation until the 45-day bonus time window. 3. 16 limit reservation per Resort instead of region. That way you can have one reservation per month with an extra to play with plus your 3 free weeks for a total of 16 per Resort. Comment
After sales people in 3 different resorts advised us that our son and his wife should combine their ownership with ours, we did that. They said that this would get our children more benefits because of the platinum status. However, we now are restricted to 10 reservations per region for all of us. If we had not combined, they would have 10 and we would have 10. Of course they had to purchase more points before this could be done. We trust your sales people to guide us in the right direction. Now we have been disadvantaged because of your region limitations. If we want to go anywhere out of our region, we have to travel too far for any weekend vacation. With grandchildren in school, they can't go for weeks at a time and trying to determine when school vacations are at least 11 months out is difficult. If we make reservations by guessing on vacation dates and are wrong, we now are limited on cancellations/modifications also. Please reconsider these decisions or at least increase the numbers. I am irritated that my benefits are reduced without any input from me. What is next? The marketing techniques at BG are scary because the owners with connections are not going to provide leads for the future. Comment
