In addition to our more expensive "qualified" points that place us at the Platinum Level, we purchased THROUGH BLUEGREEN (Pinnacle Vacations) a "points only" package of 63,000 "unqualified" points. At that time, family had become interested in our BlueGreen travels and this purchase would now allow us to splurge on more luxurious accommodations, such as an occasional Presidential Suite, or multiple condos/suites. Also, friends who had been traveling with us to BlueGreen resorts had begun asking if we could make reservations for them. And the circle of friends expanded as stories of beautiful resorts multiplied. This was the EXACT reason that BlueGreen was promoting the new "Points Only" packages via Pinnacle...more opportunities to bring family and friends to BlueGreen resorts. More points = more reservations. We have never had a successful wait listed reservation, but the unrestricted cancellations had allowed us to make, and then tweak (or possibly cancel), reservations involving other people. Involving more people in our vacation plans creates the need to make multiple reservations for the same time frame/resorts, as well as the need to possibly modify or cancel. Now that the benefit of unlimited cancellations has been revoked, we will undoubtedly reconsider how we make reservations involving others, including cutting friends out of the BlueGreen experience. We feel like we are collateral damage in your shotgun approach to contain the mega-renters. Why don't you allow unlimited cancellations up until 60 or 90 days prior to check-in? That would allow for reservation modification and release inventory in time for others to book it. The mega-renters will simply tack the cost of Points Protection onto their rental fee and, and, now, don't need to cancel until the day of check-in. How does that free up inventory?

We need unlimited cancellations restored. They said 93% of us don't use 10, so we don't need unlimited. Submit as many comments as you would like CLICK HERE.
